I bought 15 lots of electrical items from this auctioneer on January 3rd this year.
Of these items,13 did not work and were entirely useless.
They should have been listed as for spares or repair but the catalog gave the impression that the goods were of merchandable quality.
John Pye rely on their terms and conditions which state all goods are sold as seen.
This auction house should be avoided.

I bought quite a few lots from them some in sealed boxes and some not, you expect that some items may not be up to standard however out of the 15 items we bought for almost £500 none of the items worked what so ever. I would never recommend anyone to spend their money with this company

I've bought electrical goods from them and on both occasions they were faulty. It's sold as seen so no refunds. They regularly sell the same stock in auctions and I assume the goods all share the same faults. I can speculate they have job lots of these goods but filter it into auctions. Do you want to deal with this kind of company?

Brought from them on line auction in January and spent over £1000, half of the stuff had parts missing and was useless ( 2x 4ft table football both had parts missing couldn't even make one complete table, 6ft pool table that had parts of the leg system and fixtures missing, full size folding table tennis table that had parts , fixtures and nuts and bolts missing so it could not be set up,, They were class as retail return but did not state parts were missing. Don't buy from them unless item is new in seal box. I rang and complained regarding items were missing, making the item useless as it can not be assemble together, all I was told, it was sold as seen. With them charging 15% seller's fees and 20% vat on top of final sale price, you would think they would have a duty to list the item properly, they know if they did that, no one would buy the rubbish, that's why they don't list the item properly. They are rip off merchants, don't buy from them, otherwise you just be kicking yourself. Hope this will someone being rip off again, Bruce Chan

  4. John Pye (Don't Buy)are keen to block/remove any content they perceive to be less than positive- just note how many of my blogs they removed.
They of course continue to get away with their nasty unethical business practices - Good luck in your campaign - google "johnpyedontbuy" much of my stuff is still out there

  6. the problem is not the auction. its the people who bid
the price of some items are cheaper if you go to the shop.
but some bidders are stupid with lot of money.

  7. people don't read the website, everything is SOLD AS SEEN. That is why they offer a viewing. So they block people when they don't pay. If someone didn't pay in a shop i'm sure they would be barred. People don't like being told the truth.

  10. I recently bought three different lots of coffee makers, electric kettles and a laptop. I sold the items on eBay as John Pye described them to be ex-display items which meant they were new. I sold three of them and all my customers reported them leaking. I had to refund them all without asking for return of items. I spent £60 to fix laptop which still needs more money to sort out a screen problem. Absolutely crap auction firm. No one should buy from them at all unless you are happy to lose your hard earned money.

  11. I bought three lots of electric kettles, coffee makers and a laptop. All the items were described as ex-display items which meant they were unused. I sold three of them on eBay and all my customers complained about them that they were leaking. I had to refund in full even without asking for those kettles to return back to me.
I spent £60 on the laptop and it is still not 100% ok as it needs sorting out with screen. I could have bought two laptops from the market or on eBay for the money I spent on this laptop.
Please beware of John Pye & Sons Ltd as they sell scrap items describing them to be ex-display items. I placed this feedback before but they removed it. I will keep putting this feedback on their website almost every day to save others from getting robbed and even if I could save one person I would say my efforts proved to be fruitful.
